To start lending books on biblu, begin by adding books on biblu.
Once you receive a request to borrow, go to the "Lending" tab within the "Lend" section of biblu.
Note that you must activate the app notifications to receive borrowing request notifications.
You can reject or accept borrowing requests as you like.
If you decide to accept the borrowing request, you will be able to track the lending progress through a tracker.
After accepting a request, lending progresses by
- Chatting with the borrower and agreeing to meet.
- Once you meet the borrower, you can hand over the book and indicate that the book was handed over through biblu.
- When the book is due. You can meet the borrower again and return the book.
- Finally, you can rate the borrower and the lending experience.
You added books and still not getting any requests to borrow your books?
If you are like us, passionate librarians, and are too keen to see other biblu users requesting to borrow your books, we recommend the following:
- Add more books! Books are hooks. The more books you have, the more likely you'll -catch a fish- and get others asking you to lend them your books.
- Add interesting and relevant books. Adding old and outdated technology textbooks in a neighborhood full of techno-savvy neighbors won't trigger any desired reactions. By adding current and exciting books, however, you have a higher chance of generating requests from biblu users nearby.
- Invite people to your local biblu community. As a passionate librarian, you probably want to see people enjoying your library. Therefore, if you find yourself lonely in a neighborhood where biblu isn't yet widespread, we highly recommend you spread the word! You, your neighbors, and colleagues can build larger biblu communities with larger libraries.
- Encourage your family and friends to borrow your books on biblu. We all have friends and family members that show interest in books we have on our shelves over dinner. Sometimes they borrow our books and bring them back on time, or late, or never bring the book back. Therefore, next time you receive a spontaneous request, tell them you're more than happy to lend them a book as long as they request to borrow it on biblu. This will help you track your books while biblu sends them the necessary reminders when books are due.
